King Abdulaziz University (KAU), through its University Education Development Center, launched a specialized training program titled “Developing Academic Secretariat Skills” on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The session took place at the Center’s auditorium and was attended by the University’s Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Amin Yousef Noaman, along with 43 participants from various academic departments.

The program aims to build and enhance the competencies of personnel working in academic secretariat roles by equipping them with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills, and by introducing modern technological tools. These efforts are designed to elevate institutional performance and contribute to excellence in supporting the educational process.
The training covered a range of core topics, including:
• Academic secretariat skills
• Professional conduct and work ethics
• Application of modern technologies
• Organizing departmental committees and councils
• Writing reports and meeting minutes
• Enhancing familiarity with administrative terminology in English
Prof. Hani Sami Brdesee, Director of the University Education Development Center, noted that the program is part of a broader series of targeted training initiatives aimed at improving staff efficiency in academic departments and preparing them to support academic accreditation and advising efforts. These initiatives align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop national talent and empower local competencies.
He added that participants were selected based on specific criteria to ensure alignment between the program’s content and the actual responsibilities of the target group. He also praised the participants’ strong engagement and the high-quality outcomes achieved in this edition of the program.
This initiative is one of many by the University Education Development Center aimed at fostering an effective academic environment and cultivating a culture of quality and professional excellence throughout the university.
